The Annapurna Sanctuary Trek is a 13-day guided Nepal journey combining Poon Hill, traditional Gurung villages, Machhapuchhre Base Camp and Annapurna Base Camp at 4,130 m. The trail enters a natural amphitheater surrounded by Annapurna I, Annapurna South, Hiunchuli and Machhapuchhre.

This itinerary adds the Ghorepani and Poon Hill route to the classic sanctuary approach. Trekkers experience stone stairways, rhododendron and bamboo forest, high alpine terrain, teahouse hospitality and sunrise views across the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges.

Annapurna Sanctuary Route and Approximate Distance

The published route follows Kathmandu → Pokhara → Nayapul → Tikhedhunga → Ghorepani → Poon Hill → Tadapani → Chhomrong → Himalaya → Machhapuchhre Base Camp → Annapurna Base Camp → Bamboo → Jhinu Danda → Pokhara → Kathmandu.

Expect approximately 90–110 km of walking. The exact distance varies with trail diversions, lodge location and the vehicle pickup point. Most trekking days involve about 5–6 hours of walking, with many stone steps and repeated ascents and descents.
